Emma was born and raised in Canton, Georgia. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate degree at the University of Georgia. She worked at Project Safe Incorporated, a domestic violence shelter in Athens, Georgia before beginning her time in private practice. Emma is passionate about lifetime learning and has continued to expand her expertise and practice by completing certifications related to addiction, trauma-informed care, and couples counseling. Emma is level 2 Gottman Therapy trained, which is the leading treatment in couples therapy, combining statistics about what works and the softer science of interpersonal connections to restore the meaningful connection. Emma has a heart for working with individuals of every race, creed, culture, and background. She is well versed in LGBTQIA specific treatment as well. Emma is known for providing client-centered, empathetic treatment with a real-life, real-talk approach that is rare in the field of counseling.
