Evaluation Types


Alcohol and Drug Evaluation:

(All counselors at our office are approved by the DBHDD to conduct clinical evaluations and provide treatment.)

Consists of a 25 minute interview with the clinician going over the individual’s relationship with alcohol and/or drugs. Individual is required to be at the facility 15 minutes prior to the appointment to fill out paperwork. If the reason the individual is seeking an Alcohol and Drug evaluation is a DUI offense, please make sure to let staff know so the appropriate paperwork and evaluator can be assigned. It is imperative that the individual being interviewed is 100% honest in the evaluation. An official copy of the evaluation will be produced within 5-10 business days. 

Anger Evaluation: 

Consists of a 30 minute interview with the clinician to determine individual’s ability to manage and control anger. Individual is required to be at the facility 15 minutes prior to the appointment to fill out paperwork. Between the screening tools and the interview with the individual, the clinician will determine if the individual manages his or her anger in an appropriate way. It is imperative that the individual being interviewed is 100% honest in the evaluation. An official copy of the evaluation will be produced within 5-10 business days.

Mental Health Evaluation:

Consists of a 30 minute interview with the clinician to evaluate the state of the individual’s mental health. Whether the person poses a threat to themselves or others. Individual is required to be at the facility 15 minutes prior to the appointment to fill out paperwork. This evaluation largely depends on the presenting problem reported by someone in a legal position (judge, attorney, probation officer), a loved one, or the individual themselves. It is imperative that the individual being interviewed is 100% honest in the evaluation. An official copy of the evaluation will be produced within 5-10 business days.

Life Skills Evaluation:

Consists of a 30 minute interview with the clinician to evaluate whether the individual has the appropriate life skills for their age and or position in life. It is imperative that the individual being interviewed is 100% honest in the evaluation. An official copy of the evaluation will be produced within 5-10 business days.

Shoplifting Evaluation:

Consists of a 30 minute interview with the clinician, usually after the individual has been charged with a shoplifting offense. The evaluator and individual would discuss the surrounding circumstances and the probability of this happening again. It is imperative that the individual being interviewed is 100% honest in the evaluation. An official copy of the evaluation will be produced within 5-10 business days.

Immigration Evaluation:

Can be used in cases for Spousal Abuse (VAWA), Asylum Seekers, U Visas, and Extreme Hardship Cases to name a few. The evaluation consists of 2-3 interviews lasting 1-2 hours long with the product being a written report explaining the extenuating circumstances in the individual’s case and why special consideration would be needed for his/her petition. Evaluations can be conducted with the help of a Spanish interpreter. An official copy of the evaluation will be produced within 15-20 business days.

LS-CMI:

This evaluation is only conducted if you have been approved to be evaluated by an Accountability Court Administrator. It consists of a one to one and a half hour interview with a licensed therapist to determine the level of care you would be requiring if you were accepted to the accountability court program you are applying to.
